Your BMI indicates you are underweight. You may have always been on the thin side, however it is especially important to discuss your weight with your doctor if:

| 18.5-24.9 | Acceptable
Congratulations, you are at a healthy weight. Remember it is important to maintain your current weight and avoid gaining extra pounds. |
| 25-29.9 | Overweight
Weights in this range may carry a health risk. However it is possible to have a higher BMI and still be very healthy. If you are active you may be carrying more muscle than fat, elevating your BMI into the unhealthy range. It is especially important to consider losing 5-10 pounds if you fall into this range and have one of the following:

| 30 + | Obese You can gain significant health benefits by losing weight. Start by setting realistic goals. A weight loss of 10-20 pounds can improve your health. |
